Bigwood Camping Weekend

Service Description

Hike into Bigwood Lake, Boat ride to pre set up campsite and camp for the weekend. Participants will meet at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Center lot (5085 Reg. Rd.80, Hanmer, Ont.) near the northwest entrance on Friday afternoon at 4:00pm. Once everyone is accounted for guides will lead participants to the launch off point. Once there participants will hike on an atv trail to Bigwwood Lake with a guide (approx. 1 mile). Once at the lake participants will be ferried by boat to the campsite. Once at the campsite people will be assigned a tent where they can stow their gear and spend the weekend. Efforts will be made to keep friends and family together but due to space limitations there are no guarentees. Bulky items such as coolers etc. will be ferried in over the course of Friday evening by atv and boat. A guide or guides will be on site at all times for site security and assistance. They will have a variety of camp support gear on site ie. a generator for lighting etc, screened in dining tent, camp chef explorer deluxe propane stove with griddle for cooking meals, potable water, wood processing tools, first aid supplies, etc. to make your experience more trouble free and enjoyable. Friday night there will be a meet and greet around a campfire where guides will orient participants and outline the activities that are available to them. The event will terminate on Sunday at 4:00pm. Gear and participants will be ferried out in the same manner as before. Guides will lead participants back to the Hanmer Valley Shopping Center to ensure no one gets lost.
